Founder's Message

In 1945, my father, the late Abdul Latif Jameel, founded “Abdul Latif Jameel” which began a tradition of charitable giving and community projects. To this day, Community Jameel Saudi extends its values and mission from his vision.

For over 75 years, we considered philanthropy as an integral part of Abdul Latif Jameel, and treated it with the same significance as our commercial endeavors. In 2003, we inaugurated the “Abdul Latif Jameel Community Service Programs”, aiming to contribute to the social, economic, technological, and environmental prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to make a positive impact towards creating a better future for society. Guided by this vision, we initiated several high-quality programs and initiatives that focus on job creation, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship advancement, youth development, and supporting research in areas of technology, science, education, and healthcare.

Over the past years, the Foundation has served over 854 thousand beneficiaries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trusted Crown Prince, may God protect them, along with other partners from public and private organizations. Most notably, we, at Community Jameel Saudi Foundation, owe our success to our beneficiaries, both men and women. We express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has supported us, our esteemed partners, and our dedicated colleagues within the organization.

As we look ahead, we are eager to persist in our efforts to achieve more in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. I extend my best wishes for success to everyone, and may God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you all.

Our History

Since its establishment over 75 years ago, Abdul Latif Jameel has established various community initiatives and programmes. In 2003, all the initiatives were restructured under “Abdul Latif Jameel Community Service Programmes”.

2003 marked a new chapter for Abdul Latif Jameel’s successive journey, undertaking a specialist-led restructuring of its community development programmes and initiatives into a centralised unit, working towards one common goal: creating and providing job opportunities that lead to better lives and prosperous society. This culminated in the establishment of Community Jameel Saudi in 2010 as a non-governmental public service foundation aimed at stimulating community development through a wide array of initiatives, of which some evolved into independent thriving entities supporting and complementing our humanitarian mission to help empower and enrich our society.

Our efforts focused on catalysing job opportunities to Saudi young men and woman through full-fledged and integrated schemes such as Taxi and Truck Ownership programmes, technical skills development and training resulting in employment, as well as supporting productive families and small enterprises. In parallel, we launched several awareness campaigns to change prevailing concepts by promoting a culture of productivity and financial independence such as "There is no shame in working" and " I am proud of my job."

Some of our notable initiatives for supporting the community well-being pertains the founding of Al Nada Center for Social Care in Hail in 2005 and our contribution to establishing the King Salman Centre for Disability Research in 1992 in Riyadh and the Prisoners' Family Day initiative in 2004. In the field of education, Community Jameel Saudi helped launch "1001 Inventions' and actively contributed to establishing "Injaz Saudi Arabia"
