The MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) in Saudi Arabia is part of a global network of chapters dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation worldwide. We inform, connect, and train Saudi entrepreneurs, enabling them to rapidly transform their ideas into companies that can reshape the world.
Established in 2015, with the goal of promoting and enriching the entrepreneurship ecosystem, the forum aims to celebrate and support all potential startups, entrepreneurs, and social enterprises in Saudi Arabia through the MITEF Saudi Startup Competition, across all fields and industries.

Fruits 360 is an online business intelligence platform that provides businesses in the retail sector with easily accessible and live analytical reports on sales, operations, payments, and other digital data from their points-of-sale database. Fruits 360 makes it easier for stakeholders to make informed, quick, and
facilitated decisions. In less than two months after ranking first place in the 4th MITEF Saudi Startup Competition – startups track, Fruits 360 made its first contract outside of Saudi Arabia. Presently, their services have expanded to Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt.

Bab Rizq Jameel Microfinance
In 2004, microfinance programmes were introduced for small businesses, which included financial support to productive families as well as individual startup businesses, Taxi and Truck ownership programmes which subsequently created job opportunities for young men and women based on their goals and capabilities.This allowed them to participate in the economic development of the community and reduce unemployment.
In 2018, Bab Rizq Jameel Microfinance was established, and it was the first company licensed by the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia to offer microloans. It aims to aid the developing entrepreneurial environment in Saudi Arabia as well as to achieve sustainable communities through creating job opportunities by investment in entrepreneurs and providing the necessary financing to support startup businesses, working from home businesses and productive families.

At 21 years old, Musab al-Khalidi wanted to create an ice cream brand, but he lacked the necessary knowledge and experience to start his dream project in the food industry. He approached Bab Rizq Jameel Microfinance
and received financial and technical support that contributed to the success of his company. "Home Ice Cup" became a Saudi registered brand and approved franchise that now has ten locations across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Reem Sayyadi's passion for soap-making started out as a hobby using simple methods. After she saw an advertisement for a soap-making trainer on WhatsApp, she started to train others how to make soaps and promoted her products on Instagram. Once she was acquainted with Bab Rizq Jameel Microfinance, she applied for funding.
After Reem obtained funding from Bab Rizq Jameel Microfinance, she was able to purchase all the equipment necessary to develop and expand her project. This was a breakthrough point for Reem. It was a great opportunity to meet inspiring entrepreneurs disrupting this vibrant and promising ecosystem. My only advice for the startups is to stay focused on not to be discouraged by rejection. Rejection is a starting point of your journey and will help you reshape and refine your “Why?”
