Bab Rizq Jameel Company announced the launch of the second edition of the “Training Ending with Employment in the Coffee Sector Programme” as a part of its mission to empower the society’s members, provide job opportunities for young men and women, and fulfill their professional aspirations. This initiative stems from Bab Rizq Jameel’s goals of helping individuals looking for income opportunities, qualifying them with skills, linking them with suitable opportunities in the local labor market, and empowering them economically. The Training Ending with Employment Programme mainly contributes to the prosperity of the national economy in various industries, especially in the coffee sector, which is witnessing remarkable development in Saudi Arabia supported by high demand and growing interest from investors.

The “Training Ending with Employment Programme” is aligned with the Kingdom Vision 2030’s objectives and Vision Realization Programmes, including the Human Capability Development Programme, the National Transformation Programme, and the Quality of Life Programme, by contributing to improving the readiness of youths to enter the labor market, reducing the unemployment rate to 7%, and celebrating the traditional Saudi coffee, and enhancing the growth and global competitiveness of the Kingdom’s coffee industry.

As the case with the 1st edition of the Programme, the Arabian Coffee Institute is going to be the training partner. The institute is accredited by the Ministry of Culture’s Culinary Arts Commission and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation. The institute is distinguished by its team of experts, educators, and researchers specialized in the coffee industry, who offer a wide range of training courses to provide training on the latest science-based best practices in the coffee sector.

It is expected that 38 new trainees will be recruited for the second edition, covering seven cities around the Kingdom, including Riyadh, Khobar, Dammam, Qatif, Jubail, Ras Tanura, and Yanbu. During the training, the participants will learn several essential skills relevant to the coffee sector’s jobs, including the barista skill, like the techniques and arts of preparing all kinds of coffee, roasting beans, and serving it to customers. The training Programme will also include training a group of coffee shop supervisors with administrative and executive tasks. The ‘Training Ending with Employment Programme’ inclusiveness will help the participants succeed and advance in this emerging sector.

After completing the training, participants will receive an accredited certificate from the Arabian Coffee Institute. Moreover, the recruitment partner for this edition, Derby International Coffee Company Limited, will offer them job opportunities. To ensure the development of the new employees’ skills and the achievement of outstanding performance in their jobs, their performance will be monitored after graduation through a follow-up program for three months.

On this occasion, Dr. Mai Taibah, the Executive Director of Bab Rizq Jameel and a member of the Board of Trustees of Community Jameel Saudi Foundation, stated: “The launch of the second edition of the Training Ending with Employment Programme in the coffee sector is an extension of the great success achieved by the 1st edition, and is a testament to the mission of Bab Rizq Jameel.”

She added: “The 2nd edition of the Programme includes a more practical curriculum than the previous one. It aims to enable the trainees to work directly in various jobs to meet the dynamic needs of the labor market in the coffee sector. We will also provide training to fill various roles in the coffee sector besides Baristas, such as General Supervisor of shops and Cashiers. We are confident the program’s 2nd edition will be a platform to discover and attract young talents in this important sector”.

Mr. Khalil Al-Saadawi, the Executive Director of Derby International Coffee Company Limited, said: “We are pleased and honored to partner with Bab Rizq Jameel in this pioneering initiative, which seeks to equip young men and women with skills and increase their readiness to occupy various and advanced job titles. This will allow us to keep pace with the developing needs of the growing coffee sector in the Kingdom, and we are sincerely grateful to Bab Rizq Jameel for their persistent support and active contribution to empowering Saudi youth. We are confident that our cooperation will enhance our competitiveness and will allow us to achieve sustainable success in the coffee industry.”

As part of its mission to empower Saudi youth and facilitate their entry into the workforce, Bab Rizq Jameel collaborated with the Arabian Coffee Institute to offer the Training Ending with Employment in the Coffee Sector Programme, made possible through Community Jameel Saudi support. This programme is one of several initiatives held by Bab Rizq Jameel to empower youth to enter the labor market.
