The tour, which has been organised by Community Jameel in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labour and Social Development and the sponsorship of Saudi Arabian Airlines, is part of Community Jameel’s Tanweer Programme for Orphans. The programme recognises orphaned children aged 14-18 who have consistently achieved high levels of school performance with an annual trip abroad, with the aim of motivating them to make further progress.

Previous trips include visits to France, Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and Spain. This year’s trip to the UAE, which will take place next week until 18th July, will include unique cultural experiences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Abdalla Taleb, manager of social and health initiatives at Community Jameel, said: “Everyone – no matter what their background – should be able to fulfill their full potential. That is why we are happy to support these children with this trip to the UAE.

“These tours have been organised annually by Community Jameel in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs for Orphans for nearly 12 years. They aim to broaden their horizon and bring joy and happiness to this most precious group of children.

“This opportunity has been brought about thanks to Saudi Airlines sponsoring the orphans’ trip to the UAE this year, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs continuous support, and all those who have helped us in various ways.”

Tanweer Programme for Orphans was launched in 2005, in partnership with the private sector, represented by Community Jameel, and with the government sector, represented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, to make a big difference for orphans and brighten their lives.

This is achieved through the participation of academically outstanding orphan students in trips abroad at the end of every school year, exposing them to different societies and cultures across the world.
